En Vacances
I've just returned from a chocolaty trip to Quebec City, and will soon be headed off to Paris for even more chocolate (even though author Michael Steinberger says "au revoir" to all that)! I'll be back to regular NYC posting duty soon.

ATTENTION FOOD-TOGRAPHERS!
A picture is worth 1000 words, or so said somebody, somewhere. Here in
Queens, a picture is worth 1000 bites. We're looking for iconic,
stunning, provocative and just plain mouth-watering photos taken in
the borough of Queens to run in our Fall "Quintessential Queens"
column. If you've got a great photo that would make a lifelong Queens
resident well up with tears with borough love...and start thinking
about what to eat for dinner, please submit it to
edit@ediblequeensmagazine.com before midnight on August 9, 2009. The
best photo will be published in edible Queens (the accolades! the
fame!). The winning photographer will receive 50 copies of the
magazine to autograph and hand out to your admirers, plus a one-year
subscription.

Try a local-ish chocolatier -- Hedonist Chocolates -- which is an UPSTATE NY chocolate maker. I'm a fan of Quebec City but. . . try upstate!
